Karan Salot
Product, Data & Business Analyst
I am a recent masters in management information systems graduate currently based in the United States, deeply passionate about researching and solving ambiguous problems to build impactful products. When I'm not driving product strategy, you can find me playing my guitars, competing in hackathons, attending conferences, or geeking out over wildlife, sports, and geopolitics.
I like turning messy problems into clearer systems.
I am a Management Information Systems graduate from the University of Arizona, now working as a Program Coordinator for COHC and IMHO at the University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center. Most of my work lives in the practical middle: data systems, reporting, participant workflows, and the small process decisions that make a team easier to run.
Before that, I worked across behavioral economics research, product analytics, teaching, live-client consulting, and hackathon builds. I like projects where the question is still a little fuzzy at the beginning, because that is usually where research, product judgment, and good communication matter most.
When I unplug, I'm usually shouting at the TV supporting the Indian Cricket Team, enthusiastically playing guitar, watching wildlife documentaries, or skating.

WILDLIFE FANATIC
I absolutely love wildlife documentaries. Ask me about the lions in the Maasai Mara, but only if you have an hour to spare.
Choose A Lens
Pick a side of the story.
Jump between the product work, the systems thinking, and the off-hours pieces that make the rest feel more human.
Give me a fuzzy idea and a whiteboard.
This is the side of me that likes shaping messy problems into a product direction, a prototype, or a workflow people can actually use. Hackathons, live-client projects, and program operations all sit here.

My Journey
Professional & Academic
Program Coordinator, COHC and IMHO
University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center
I support program operations across COHC and IMHO initiatives, with a focus on making the day-to-day work easier to track, coordinate, and improve. A lot of my role sits where people, data, and technology meet.
Data systems
Manage program data in REDCap and Trellis CRM for participant tracking, events, and communications.
Reporting
Build reports and dashboards that help teams monitor engagement, outcomes, and workflow health.
Program insight
Analyze trends and translate findings into practical next steps for clinicians, researchers, and program teams.
Better coordination
Streamline processes so community-facing work can scale without losing the participant experience.

Southern Arizona Social Innovation Track
Community Highlight
Hack Arizona brought students, nonprofits, and community partners into the same room.
The Southern Arizona Social Innovation Track focused on scalable ideas for economic mobility and community well-being. Dr. Mary L. Rigdon joined the awards ceremony to share remarks and present prizes, with the Freedom Center supporting the challenge alongside the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
The weekend also included a Freedom Center workshop on Synthetic Cultural Agents for culturally robust AI, helping teams think through how to design more inclusive and globally relevant AI systems. I helped support the experience with the University of Arizona Provost's Office.

spruce.fun
Solana Prediction Market InfrastructureWeb3
Built a Solana-based derivatives platform for trading real-world outcomes with leveraged long and short positions. The project combines an on-chain central limit order book, SPL position tokens, USDC collateral, a Rust risk engine, and live market data streams for a more transparent prediction-market trading experience.

VetoClub.AI
AI Group-Chat Planning AgentAI
Designed an AI concierge for group chats that quietly tracks preferences like cuisine, timing, budget, dietary needs, and travel constraints, then responds when tagged with ranked dinner options. The agent uses a silent extraction loop, an active planning loop, Yelp search, Maps validation, and confirmation tracking before moving a group toward a booking.

Interview.AI
Adaptive Mock Interview PlatformAI
Built an interview-practice platform with technical, behavioral, and coding modes. It parses a candidate's resume, generates tailored questions, supports voice input and feedback, grades responses with a rubric, runs coding questions in a sandbox, and produces a post-session report with concrete improvement signals.

NeuroNexus AI Campus Assistant
Hack Arizona 2025Hackathons
Built an AI campus assistant at Hack Arizona to help students find university resources faster. I focused on product direction, user research, and turning a broad student support problem into a working full-stack demo with practical NLP flows.

Regen Art DAO
ETH Denver 2025Hackathons
Built a DAO concept for regenerative artists at ETH Denver, with smart contracts for community governance and a front-end experience that made collaboration, ownership, and collective art easier to understand.

Keyless AI
ETH SanFrancisco 2024Hackathons
Explored a smoother authentication flow using AI and zero-knowledge cryptography, allowing users to verify credentials without exposing sensitive underlying data.

Estonian Traffic Safety Analytics
Data Analytics Challenge (DAC) - Eller CollegeStrategy
Examined regional datasets to identify high-risk counties in Estonia (Rapla and Jõgeva) experiencing disproportionate traffic violations. Designed a strategic framework proposing a joint venture between the government and insurance companies to offer premium discounts based on telematics and clean records. Established KPIs targeting a 5% reduction in speeding violations and carbon emissions within the first year.

Student Enrollment Prediction Model
Data Mining and Business IntelligenceData
Compared six machine learning models for student enrollment prediction and packaged the findings for university analytics use. The goal was not just accuracy, but a model story that decision-makers could follow.

Revitalizing Disney Theme Parks
Product & Business Strategy PresentationStrategy
Built and presented a strategy for Disney Theme Parks that balanced robotics, AR/VR, analytics, and sustainability investments against ROI, operations, and guest experience.
Building Three AI Products in 36 Hours at HackIllinois 2026
Hackathons are a strange but wonderful combination of chaos, creativity, and caffeine... That is exactly what happened at HackIllinois 2026.
My team and I spent the weekend building three different AI projects in under 36 hours. It was intense, chaotic, incredibly fun, and one of those weekends where you forget how tired you are because you are too excited about what you are building.
